A meeting of veterans of the New Azerbaijan Party with young people was held on the topic "Study of Heydar Aliyev's heritage" dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The purpose of the event, which was jointly organized by the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Veterans Council of the New Azerbaijan Party, the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs  of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is the promotion of the rich and diverse political heritage and national idea of National Leader Heydar Aliyev as an example in the development of the young generation. The participants of the meeting visited the monument of National leader Heydar Aliyev. The participants visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum, where exhibits related to the life and activities of the great leader were displayed, and exhibition of the handicrafts of young people. Before the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and then the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute's silence. Mr. Samir Seyidahmedli, the deputy authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, who knew the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev closely and participated in the meeting attended by state and public figures, delivered an opening speech, expressing that experience, knowledge and loyalty to Heydar Aliyev's ideas are an example for new generations and plays an important role in keeping these values alive. Ms. Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, said that the great Nakhchivan, which was at the center of the political processes taking place in Azerbaijan throughout history, had a great heritage and unparalleled wealth. The greatest personality of this country is the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Ms. B. Muradova noted that the people of Azerbaijan will always remember with gratitude the incomparable services of our genius leader. The chairperson of the committee emphasized that it is very important for our youth to adopt the principles based on Heydar Aliyev's legacy today and for our future. Then Mr. Arif Rahimzadeh, Chairperson of the Veterans Council of the New Azerbaijan Party, Mr. Anar Ibrahimov, Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Ms. Ramila Seyidova, Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic had speech during the conference. After the speeches, the event continued with a panel session entitled "The heritage of the Great Leader, a road map for the next generation", "Participation of young people in social and political processes of Azerbaijan". In the panel moderated by Ms. Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affiars of the Republic of Azerbaijan, memories and speeches about Great Leader Heydar Aliyev of Mr. Hikmet Mammadov, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Zarifa Guliyeva Member of the Veterans Council of the New Azerbaijan Party, Chairperson of the Agbirchek Society of Nasimi District,  Dr. Qahira Huseynov Honored Journalist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Philosophy of Political Science, Ms. Nilgul Ganbarli, a student of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering of Nakhchivan State University, Heydar Aliyev scholarship recipient were listened to, the genius leader's care for the youth was discussed, and the questions of the participants were answered.

Educational activities were carried out in the regions in the direction of internet security

Aghdam, Shuvelan, Goranboy, Goygol, Ismayilli, Gabala, Saatli, Sabirabad, Hajigabul, Zardab Child and Family Support Centers of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs held a series of events in educational institutions to raise awareness of parents and children about the dangers of the Internet. Employees of centers, local executive authorities and law enforcement agencies, members of expert groups of centers, directors of schools, teacher and student staff, and parents took part in the events. The main purpose of the events is to inform parents, teachers and schoolchildren about internet safety and guide them correctly. The experts discussed with the participants what security rules to follow when using social networks, ways to create a difficult and memorable password, and legal aspects in the fight against cybercrime, and presentations related to the topic were shown, as well. At the end of the event, the questions of interest to the participants were answered, and educational materials were distributed.

The report-election meeting of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee was held on May 3, 2024

On May 3, 2024, the report-election meeting of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs was held.Before the meeting, the dear memory of National leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated.Rahila Babayeva, chief adviser of the Organizational Affairs and Legal Department of the Republican Trade Union Committee of State Departments and Public Service Employees also participated in the meeting.The reports of Elmira Gurbanli, Chair of the Trade Union Committee, and Elshad Karimov, Chairman of the Inspection Commission on the financial activity of the reporting period, were heard on the work of the Trade Union Committee of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs from 01.01.2020 to 01.01.2024.As a result of the discussions held around the submitted reports, the activity of the trade union committee of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs for the period from 01.01.2020 to 01.01.2024 was considered satisfactory and a decision was made in this regard.Organizational issues were also discussed at the meeting.7 members were elected to the Committee of the Trade Union Organization and 3 members to the Inspection Commission.Elmira Gurbanlı was unanimously elected to the position of Chairperson of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs on the basis of public grounds.

The State Committee held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

On May 3, 2024, Bahar Muradova met with Siti Rozaimeriyanti Dato Haji Abdul Rahman, the Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum. Welcoming the guests, Bahar Muradova thanked them for the meeting initiative. She spoke about the importance of the Forum hosted by Azerbaijan, the relevance and usefulness of the topics discussed there. Mr. President Ilham Aliyev initiated the Forum and said that it brings together people from different parts of the world and creates new opportunities for useful cooperation.The chairperson of the committee noted that Asia combines different cultures and highly appreciated the international activity of the Secretary-General in this geography. She added that there is successful cooperation between the country's parliament and the Assembly and they are developing further.B. Muradova emphasized that Azerbaijan's opportunities in the field of multilateral cooperation expanded during the period when she chaired the Non-Aligned Movement, and at the same time, the importance of continuing mutual relations within the framework of this platform.Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanti expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and spoke about the importance of the international forum held in our country these days, as well as the importance of similar initiatives. It was pointed out that they are interested in intensifying relations in various directions.During the meeting, views were exchanged on prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and  ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, issues arising from the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The training was held on the topic "Features of psychosocial work with families and children"

On May 1-3, 2024, in order to provide specialist training in various fields for the protection of children's rights, a training was held on "Characteristics of psychosocial work with families and children" with the organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, in Ganja city, for the employees of Child and Family Support Centers, as well as for psychologists of general education institutions of Goygol district. Amirkhan Safarov, an employee of the Family Affairs Department of the Committee, made an opening speech at the training, informing the participants about the purpose of the training and emphasizing the importance of conducting psychosocial work with families and children in the community.Elvin Muradov, an expert acting as a trainer, a social worker of the Shelter and Social Rehabilitation Institution for Persons from Vulnerable Population Groups under the Social Services Agency, a doctoral student of Baku State University, taught the participants the importance of social work with families and children, expert skills in the assessment process, education and protection in child development, basics and mechanisms for identifying and preventing violence against children, gatekeeping procedures for individual cases and their application in the community, case manager functions, and control and monitoring topics were reported, as well. Also, through sample cases, assignments and group work, actual problems in the organization of social work with families and children were touched upon and solutions were discussed.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, participated in the "Public processes at the media level" forum. Within the framework of the forum organized by the Media Development Agency, Panel sessions were organized on the media agenda topics such as"Proper use of media in the fight against drug addiction", "Proper media coverage of social issues", as well as "Domestic violence and early marriage", "Effective fight against cyberbullying in the media and cyber awareness" and  "Green year of solidarity for the sake of the world". Mrs.Taliya Ibrahimova, head of the Legal Protection Department of the State Committee, delivered a report on the panel entitled "Correct coverage of social issues, as well as sensitive topics such as domestic violence and early marriage in the media."

On May 2, a meeting was held in the Zagatala district within the framework of the "Elegant Faces of a Strong Society" project jointly organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and "Regional Development" Public Union.The State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs representatives, "Regional Development" Public Union and local executive body attended the event's opening.The successful women's policy implemented by the state, the opportunities created for women's empowerment and the realization of their potential were discussed in the speeches, and the importance of the projects implemented by relevant institutions and public associations in this direction was highlighted.In the continuation of the meeting, successful women in different fields - Gunel Safarova, Deputy Head of the Child Protection Department of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Parvana Mammadova, Chairperson of the National Dialogue Platform "Women's Agenda", founder of the Azerbaijan Women's Foundation "FemACT" gave a TEDx presentation and shared with their success stories and experiences.It should be noted that the purpose of the project is to support the development of personal and leadership skills of women, teenagers and young girls living in the regions, and to encourage their social activity.The next meetings are planned to be held in the cities of Sumgait, Mingachevir, Sheki, Gakh, and Masalli regions.

Bahar Muradova met with Uganda's Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development

On 2 May 2024, Chairperson of the State Committee Bahar Muradova met with Uganda's Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Betty Sneedini Ong.Bahar Muradova welcomed the guests attending the VI World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue on the theme "Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Interaction" and expressed her pleasure in seeing them in our country.Paying attention to the prestigious event being held in our capital these days, the Chairperson noted that this event is an important date in the socio-political life of Azerbaijan. She underlined that during the panel session "Promotion of women's rights in intercultural dialogue: on the way to global development" held within the Forum, problems faced by peoples and countries were expressed, and experience and recommendations were voiced with the participation of guests from different countries and international organizations. The Chairperson drew attention to the importance of meetings held in such formats in ensuring human rights and expressed the importance of maximising the use of these opportunities. Appreciating the Minister's performance at the international level, the Chairperson of the Committee noted that she represents a country that is confidently pursuing its goals and added that we should intensify our mutual activities in relevant areas as partner institutions. Noting that Azerbaijan's Chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement and relations between the two countries are developing, the Chairperson emphasised that the messages and important steps taken by our country with the support of Uganda and other member states of the Movement are a great achievement and contribution to the process of ensuring peace and security in the world. She expressed confidence that this process will become more sustainable in the coming years. Expressing gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, Betty Sneedini Ongom, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development of Uganda, expressed satisfaction with participation in the Global Forum and underlined the main points and messages presented in the opening speech of President Ilham Aliyev. While assessing Azerbaijan's activity during its Chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement, the guest noted that the country has taken significant steps towards the establishment of the Movement and has proposed many crucial initiatives.  The Minister emphasized the importance of joint and coordinated efforts in various fields related to women's rights. She referred to the "Conference on the Development and Expansion of Women's Rights" and noted that such efforts would be beneficial in the positive implementation of the documents adopted during the event.During the bilateral meeting, the participants discussed potential cooperation opportunities to improve coordination in relevant areas.  Other officials from both sides also participated in the meeting.
