"ITI Zaka - 2" hackathon will be held among children
The State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the "Azerbaijan Children's Development Platform" Public Union are starting the selection rounds of the "ITI Zaka - 2" hackathon among children. The Hackathon is held in order to give children the opportunity to take initiative in the direction of ensuring their rights, to offer innovative solutions, and to develop their creative thinking. Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to work in a team, develop digital skills, learn and apply the latest technological innovations from local and foreign experts in the field. This year's hackathon will cover the following topics: - Healthy lifestyle; - Intellectual development; - Ecology and children; - Information security; - Artificial intelligence and children; - Leisure and entertainment. Children aged 14-17 who have digital skills, have certain knowledge and skills in the field of information technologies (certificate, diploma), have an innovative mind, have a special interest in this field and are able to work in a team can participate in the hackathon. Children must register for the competition in teams of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 people (taking into account the representation of girls and boys). Selected candidates will be contacted. Hackathon will consist of 4 stages. At the initial stage, participants will be involved in online trainings of local and foreign experts and will be instructed on relevant topics. The other 3 stages will consist of live training, hackathon and awarding of winners. The 3 most talented winning teams will be determined by the judges and the results will be announced at the award ceremony. Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to work in a team, develop their digital skills, learn and apply the latest technological innovations from local and foreign experts in the field. The next training was held within the framework of the "Child-to-Child" project
Members of the Assembly of Children's Ambassadors operating under the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs launched the training project "The World Written in Codes" within the framework of the "Child-to-Child" project. In the training that took place on May 14, 2024 with the participation of students of the Vlll grade of the physics, mathematics and informatics-oriented high school, the students obtained information about the field of programming and artificial intelligence. The main purpose of the training is to improve the computer knowledge of schoolchildren, to give them the opportunity to create their own projects by learning the basic functions of the programming language, and to support increasing their interest in the field of informatics.

The staff of the State Committee visited the grave of the Great Leader in the Alley of Honor
On May 10, in connection with the 101st anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, the collective of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs visited the grave of the Great Leader in the Alley of Honor. At the commemoration ceremony, a wreath was placed in front of the monument of the founder and architect of independent Azerbaijan, an outstanding statesman, and a genius, and his memory was commemorated with deep respect. The memory of prominent ophthalmologist scientist, academician Ms. Zarifa Aliyeva was commemorated, and flowers were arranged on her grave.

The Children's Ambassadors Assembly's "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" project continues successfully in the regions
In connection with the declaration of 2024 by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World", representatives and activists of the Assembly of Children's Ambassadors are implementing the "One World" project. Within the framework of the project, tree planting campaigns and trainings were held in cities and regions. In total, about 500 children participated in the training and actions. Representatives and activists from Gabala, Kurdamir, Beylagan, Gadabey, Balakan, Tovuz, Gakh, Guba, Shamakhi, Jalilabad, Zagatala, Ismailli, Zardab regions, Sumgait, Ganja, Naftalan, Lankaran cities, as well as from Khojaly, Jabrayil and Gubadli, participated in the ecology, climate have implemented various trainings, contests, debates and tree-planting actions on the topics of changes, ecological culture. Educational events on prevention of violence against children were held in the regions
Educational activities on the prevention of violence against children were held by the Agdam, Shuvelan, Goranboy, Goygol, Ismayilli, Gabala, Saatli, Sabirabad, Hajigabul, Zardab, Zagatala Child and Family Support Centers of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs. Employees of centers and related institutions, educational and medical workers, schoolchildren, students, members of expert groups of centers, psychologists and parents took part in events held in villages and towns, centers and educational institutions. The experts who spoke at the events discussed the measures implemented in our country to prevent violence against children, the existing legislative acts, the protection of children according to the Council of Europe Convention "On the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Violence" (Lanzarote Convention) and the UN Convention "On the Rights of the Child" and informed the participants about the work done in the field. It was noted that educational institutions, along with the family, are of special importance in the formation of children as personalities in society and in their proper education, so it is necessary for the relevant institutions to work in close cooperation in the fight against cases of violence. In their speeches, psychologists informed parents about the traumas, communication problems and other complications caused by violence in children. At the events, information was provided about the 860 Gender-based Violence Support Line and 116111 - Children's hotline, as well as social videos on the topic were shown and educational materials were distributed.

A training session was held on "Prevention of early marriage"
The next online training was held with the participation of the executive authorities of the Karabakh, Lankaran-Astara, Mil-Mugan regions, as well as the employees of the Child and Family Support Centers on "Prevention of Early Marriage" organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.The purpose of the training is to exchange ideas in the direction of strengthening related work in this field, discussing problems and ways to solve them.In the training, Kamila Aliyeva and Bahar Hasanli, the employees of the State Committee gave information about early marriage, the causes and consequences of relative marriages, existing problems, prevention ofthese problems, and measures implemented by the Committee.Later, Imran Aliyev, deputy head of the Department of Preventive Work with Minors of the Main Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, spoke as an expert and gave the participants extensive information about the existing legislative acts in this direction, as well as the implemented measures.At the same time, opinions were exchanged regarding the cancellation of the exception regarding the reduction of the marriage age and the tightening of penal measures, questions were answered by the expert.It should be noted that in order to ensure the training of specialists in the direction of the protection of children's rights, trainings on other relevant topics are ongoing.
