The event was held on the theme "When we say Azerbaijan, we think of you" on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev's birth

The New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Fuzuli district organization held an event on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the birth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev on the theme "When we say Azerbaijan, we think of you" on May 8, 2024 Before the event, the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev, located in Horadiz was visited and flowers were placed in front of it. The event, which took place in full secondary school No. 1 named after Mirza Ulugbey of Fuzuli district, started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute's silence. Ms. Bahar Muradova, the chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, welcomed the participants. Sharing her views on the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), which is the political legacy of the Great Leader, the chairperson called it an innovative political party that is at the forefront of the processes in the difficult days of Azerbaijan, defines the tasks to save and revive the country. She added that today the party with more than 700 thousand members has partners and allies all over the world. Speaking about the great works done by Heydar Aliyev for the Azerbaijani state and statehood, Ms. B. Muradova emphasized that the people of Azerbaijan will always remember with gratitude the incomparable services of our genius leader. Stating that today's achievements are the result of the policies of the Great Leader who established the modern state of Azerbaijan and turned it into our main asset, the Chairperson of the Committee said that it was the Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev who further strengthened this state in the direction of the new Azerbaijani policy. Ms. Bahar Muradova, who paid attention to the development of the lands freed from occupation after the victory, expressed confidence that the children growing up in these lands will grow up as children loyal to their homeland, land, and values.

The chairperson of the committee met with the regional director of "UN Women" for European and Central Asian countries

Ms. Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs met with Ms. Belen Sanz Luque, Regional Director of UN Women for Europe and Central Asia on May 7, 2024 During the meeting held for the purpose of acquaintance and cooperation, the possibilities of mutual cooperation in the direction of ensuring gender equality, women's economic empowerment, as well as women's activities in the field of peace and security were discussed. Issues arising from the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed. Ms. Vladanka Andreeva, the Resident Coordinator of the UN Mission in Azerbaijan, Ms.Kaori Ishikawa, the representative of "UN-Women" organization in Georgia and coordinator for the South Caucasus, as well as Ms. Sadagat Gahramanova, the deputy chairperson of the Committee, took part in the meeting.

A training session was held on "Prevention of early marriage"

The next online training was held with the participation of the executive authorities of the Karabakh, Lankaran-Astara, Mil-Mugan regions, as well as the employees of the Child and Family Support Centers on "Prevention of Early Marriage" organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.The purpose of the training is to exchange ideas in the direction of strengthening related work in this field, discussing problems and ways to solve them.In the training, Kamila Aliyeva and Bahar Hasanli, the employees of the State Committee gave information about early marriage, the causes and consequences of relative marriages, existing problems, prevention ofthese problems, and measures implemented by the Committee.Later, Imran Aliyev, deputy head of the Department of Preventive Work with Minors of the Main Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, spoke as an expert and gave the participants extensive information about the existing legislative acts in this direction, as well as the implemented measures.At the same time, opinions were exchanged regarding the cancellation of the exception regarding the reduction of the marriage age and the tightening of penal measures, questions were answered by the expert.It should be noted that in order to ensure the training of specialists in the direction of the protection of children's rights, trainings on other relevant topics are ongoing.

Educational activities were carried out in the regions in the direction of internet security

Aghdam, Shuvelan, Goranboy, Goygol, Ismayilli, Gabala, Saatli, Sabirabad, Hajigabul, Zardab Child and Family Support Centers of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs held a series of events in educational institutions to raise awareness of parents and children about the dangers of the Internet. Employees of centers, local executive authorities and law enforcement agencies, members of expert groups of centers, directors of schools, teacher and student staff, and parents took part in the events. The main purpose of the events is to inform parents, teachers and schoolchildren about internet safety and guide them correctly. The experts discussed with the participants what security rules to follow when using social networks, ways to create a difficult and memorable password, and legal aspects in the fight against cybercrime, and presentations related to the topic were shown, as well. At the end of the event, the questions of interest to the participants were answered, and educational materials were distributed.

The report-election meeting of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee was held on May 3, 2024

On May 3, 2024, the report-election meeting of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs was held.Before the meeting, the dear memory of National leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated.Rahila Babayeva, chief adviser of the Organizational Affairs and Legal Department of the Republican Trade Union Committee of State Departments and Public Service Employees also participated in the meeting.The reports of Elmira Gurbanli, Chair of the Trade Union Committee, and Elshad Karimov, Chairman of the Inspection Commission on the financial activity of the reporting period, were heard on the work of the Trade Union Committee of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs from 01.01.2020 to 01.01.2024.As a result of the discussions held around the submitted reports, the activity of the trade union committee of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs for the period from 01.01.2020 to 01.01.2024 was considered satisfactory and a decision was made in this regard.Organizational issues were also discussed at the meeting.7 members were elected to the Committee of the Trade Union Organization and 3 members to the Inspection Commission.Elmira Gurbanlı was unanimously elected to the position of Chairperson of the Trade Union Organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs on the basis of public grounds.

The State Committee held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

On May 3, 2024, Bahar Muradova met with Siti Rozaimeriyanti Dato Haji Abdul Rahman, the Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum. Welcoming the guests, Bahar Muradova thanked them for the meeting initiative. She spoke about the importance of the Forum hosted by Azerbaijan, the relevance and usefulness of the topics discussed there. Mr. President Ilham Aliyev initiated the Forum and said that it brings together people from different parts of the world and creates new opportunities for useful cooperation.The chairperson of the committee noted that Asia combines different cultures and highly appreciated the international activity of the Secretary-General in this geography. She added that there is successful cooperation between the country's parliament and the Assembly and they are developing further.B. Muradova emphasized that Azerbaijan's opportunities in the field of multilateral cooperation expanded during the period when she chaired the Non-Aligned Movement, and at the same time, the importance of continuing mutual relations within the framework of this platform.Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanti expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and spoke about the importance of the international forum held in our country these days, as well as the importance of similar initiatives. It was pointed out that they are interested in intensifying relations in various directions.During the meeting, views were exchanged on prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and  ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, issues arising from the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The training was held on the topic "Features of psychosocial work with families and children"

On May 1-3, 2024, in order to provide specialist training in various fields for the protection of children's rights, a training was held on "Characteristics of psychosocial work with families and children" with the organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, in Ganja city, for the employees of Child and Family Support Centers, as well as for psychologists of general education institutions of Goygol district. Amirkhan Safarov, an employee of the Family Affairs Department of the Committee, made an opening speech at the training, informing the participants about the purpose of the training and emphasizing the importance of conducting psychosocial work with families and children in the community.Elvin Muradov, an expert acting as a trainer, a social worker of the Shelter and Social Rehabilitation Institution for Persons from Vulnerable Population Groups under the Social Services Agency, a doctoral student of Baku State University, taught the participants the importance of social work with families and children, expert skills in the assessment process, education and protection in child development, basics and mechanisms for identifying and preventing violence against children, gatekeeping procedures for individual cases and their application in the community, case manager functions, and control and monitoring topics were reported, as well. Also, through sample cases, assignments and group work, actual problems in the organization of social work with families and children were touched upon and solutions were discussed.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, participated in the "Public processes at the media level" forum. Within the framework of the forum organized by the Media Development Agency, Panel sessions were organized on the media agenda topics such as"Proper use of media in the fight against drug addiction", "Proper media coverage of social issues", as well as "Domestic violence and early marriage", "Effective fight against cyberbullying in the media and cyber awareness" and  "Green year of solidarity for the sake of the world". Mrs.Taliya Ibrahimova, head of the Legal Protection Department of the State Committee, delivered a report on the panel entitled "Correct coverage of social issues, as well as sensitive topics such as domestic violence and early marriage in the media."
