“Toward the Victory” intellectual knowledge game was held on the occasion of 92th anniversary of eminent ophthalmologist scientist Zarifa Aliyeva

Every year the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs holds events dedicated to the memory of Azerbaijan’s honored scientist, doctor of medical sciences, academic, ophthalmologist scientist Zarifa Aliyeva. On 28 April, 2014 the State Committee organized an intellectual knowledge game “Toward the Victory” among the children at Surakhani Heydar Aliyev Center jointly with Surakhani district Executive Authority and Azerbaijan Intellectual Games Club on the occasion of 92th anniversary of honored scientist, doctor of medical sciences, academic, ophthalmologist scientist Zarifa Aliyeva.First, the grave monument of Zarifa Aliyeva and Heydar Aliyev, National leader of Azerbaijan was visited by the Committee’s employees and official guests at Fakhri Khiyaban (Honorary Alley). The event began with the film “Life full of light” dedicated to Zarifa Aliyeva, and continued demonstration of video which reflected the regional selection rounds through the country.  Mr. Ilgar Abbasov, the head of the Surakhani district Executive Authority, made an opening speech and thanked to the Committee for cooperation and organized such an event together with Surakhani district Executive Authority, as well as stressed the importance of the event. Then Mrs. Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, , spoke meaningful and rich life of great scientist, ophthalmologist Z.Aliyeva, mentioned her works that had been done. Mrs. Hijran Huseynova also talked about state child policy and its priorities, as well as emphasized the works of Mehrian Aliyeva, First lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation on relevant field. At last, Head of the Committee emphasized the importance of such contests on comprehensive development of children, as well as gaining intellectual and public knowledge and wished success each teams. Moreover, Mrs. Sevinj Hajiyeva, professor of the Baku state University, and Sona Valiyeva, member of the National Television and Radio Council, talked about the fruitful activity and works of Zarifa Aliyeva. The competition took place among the teams represented 20 city and districts of Azerbaijan. There were 6 participants in each team. Yasamal district took I, Gakh district II, and Lankaran city III place in the competition. Planshet(big memory and multi functions) for the I, planshet(mini) for the II and USB Flash Drive for the III place, as well as diplomas were presented to each winner team by the Committee. Also, winner of the top 3 places of district Executive Authority was awarded diplomas, and the team of Yasamal district who got I place was given cup of “Toward the Victory”.
