A training was held in Nakhchivan on the topic "The role of gender responsible persons in the implementation of the Law on Guarantees of Gender (Men and Women) Equality".

Ms. Ramila Seyidova, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the training with an introductory speech and gave brief information about the importance of the training for the effective implementation of the current gender policy.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan  said that after the independence of our country, important work has been done in the direction of ensuring gender equality, eliminating all forms of discrimination based on gender, increasing the role of women in decision-making and providing them with equal opportunities.

At the event, head of the "Philosophy and Sociology of Politics" department of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, Ms. Rena Mirzazade, spoke about national legislation and cooperation with international organizations in this direction, methods of combating gender discrimination.

After the presentation of Ms. Aytekin Hajiyeva, an employee of the State Committee, on the topic "Gender equality: training for persons responsible for gender", reports were presented by the heads of monitoring groups in the district executive authorities of Nakhchivan.

In the end, Ms. Vafa Alakbarova, head of the domestic violence prevention sector of the State Committee, answered the questions of the training participants.
