The 39th meeting of the Lanzarote Committee "On sexual violence against children" was held

Mr. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Chief of Staff of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children  Affairs , represented Azerbaijan at the meeting as a national expert.

In the meeting, important points and special questions regarding the requests submitted to the countries for the purpose of monitoring the implementation of the Convention were discussed.

At the same time, many countries, as well as the Azerbaijani side, pointed out that the preparation of a new instruction is more important.

The representative of Europol stated that there are new dangerous cybercrime and online sexual violence networks through the meta world and called on the countries to be very careful and aware of these situations.

He expressed special thanks to these countries and called on other countries to continue this practice, noting that the Rules specially prepared by Europol for working with children who have been sexually abused have been translated into local languages by 11 countries of the Council of Europe.

It was announced that Azerbaijan is among the 11 countries mentioned.

The chief of staff of the Committee representing Azerbaijan, Ms. C. Rahmatullayeva, brought to attention the information about the works carried out on the implementation of the convention at the national level and the changes made in the legislation.

On the next day of the meeting (September 28), the presentation of the "Barnauz" Icelandic model, which is regarded as the best model in Europe, was held, and its uniqueness was specially emphasized, and other countries were recommended to adapt their local legislation to the articles of the mentioned Convention and adopt this model.
