The State Committee awarded media representatives on the eve of the National Press Day

The awarding ceremony of the "Family, women and children issues in the media" competition announced by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Issues among journalists took place On July 19, 2023.
Welcoming the guests, Mrs. Bahar Muradova said that it is important to unite our efforts to attract the public's attention to family, women's and children's issues, to direct the society in the right direction, to study the problems and overcome the difficulties. Our real friends and comrades in arms in this important matter are media representatives.
Speaking about the importance of increasing the role of the media in public and political life by our state, the Chairperson of the Committee said that the issue of the social situation of media representatives and their participation in political processes is always kept in mind: Azerbaijan has a unique tradition in the field of press. We are a country that has formed a very serious and memorable tradition in this direction in the Eastern and Islamic world. Today's generation, who are followers of H. Zardabi, who left a great mark in the field of journalism, is grateful to that personality and the steps he took in his time. Azerbaijan stood at the foundation of the formation, development and always green of such a press tree in that difficult period in the example of this personality.
B. Muradova said that a large part of the activity of social activists and politicians is the work with the media and the establishment of reciprocal relations through them. In this regard, the committee cooperates seriously with representatives of both traditional and modern media organizations and values the work of each of them and considers their participation important.
Noting that 115 media requests were answered in the first half of the current year, Mrs. Bahar Muradova noted that we expressed our opinion on different issues through the media, and conveyed our position. Among them, the number of requests from the social network is also sufficient and has a growing trend.
The chairperson, who gave information about the competition announced among journalists, noted that such projects will continue. He thanked the jury that participated in the process of evaluating the submitted writings and plots.
Then Mrs. Aysel Babayeva, an employee of the Analytical analysis and information provision department of the Committee, made a presentation containing information about the competition.
Then the results of the competition were announced.
So, for standing out in the competition:
"Selective abortions, guilty woman" - Why are the rights of the fair sex violated? Mrs.Konul Jafarli with his research on selective abortions (Oxu.az),
Mrs. Aygun Aziz (Kaspi newspaper) with his story about a family with limited health facilities, "A couple with salve for their wounds",
Mr. Ramid Ibrahimov with the research "Women scientists in Azerbaijan and their contributions to science" (Bakıvakhtı.az)
Mr. Ulkar Gasimova with the plot "A woman held captive for 1 year and 7 months spoke about Armenian brutality" ("Khazar" TV)
"We are late...-Woman, wife, mother-Children" with her research on early marriage Torakhanim Zeynalli (Eurasia Diary" International Analytical Information Portal),
"The Nightmare of Early Marriage: Is it a Girl Burden or a Salt Burden?" Mrs. Yagut Aslanova ("Iki sahil" newspaper) with her research on early marriage,
Rovshan Tahirov (ATV) was awarded with a diploma and gifts for her story about child labor "Why are their rights violated".
Then the first 3 places were awarded.
"How a woman driving Zil, Raf, Ikarus built a business" Mrs. Ilaha Azakova ("Public" Television) with a plot about women's participation in non-traditional fields, 1st place,
Mrs. Nargiz Mammadaliyeva (ARB TV) 2nd place with the research plot "The Punishment of Violence Against Women" about domestic violence.
Mrs.Shafiga Malikova (Report Information Agency) was awarded 3rd place with her research on "Sensation for readers or rules and values to be protected".
The winner of the first place, Mrs. Ilaha Azakova, shared her feelings of joy and thanked everyone who contributed to the competition.
Later, media expert Mushfiq Alasgarli, member of the Management Board of the Press Council, who spoke on behalf of the jury of the competition, expressed his gratitude to the State Committee for organizing the competition. He emphasized that the competition was organized in a very objective manner and enough professional materials were presented.
Paying attention to the professionalism of the materials submitted to the competition and the variety of genres, Mr. Alasgarli said that we already have enough knowledgeable journalists in this field.
Then, all the media representatives who participated in the competition were awarded with diplomas and the judges were presented with letters of thanks for evaluating the competition materials.
At the end, a commemorative photo was taken.
