Educational work is being done at the community level regarding the implementation of the Action Plan for 2020-2025 on the prevention of pre-birth gender selection of children by the Child and Family Support Centers (CFSC) of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs

As a continuation of the measures in this direction, on June 6-08, 2023, Hajigabul, Saatli, Zardab CFSCs held educational meetings on the topic "Discrimination by the gender of children in the family is unacceptable" in villages and towns with the support of relevant institutions.

Employees of CFSCs and relevant institutions, members of expert groups of centers, and community residents took part in the meetings.

The educational events talked about the gender stereotypes that are at the root of the superiority given by gender in society, and the negative effects of the artificial termination of pregnancy due to gender selection on women's reproductive health and psychological condition were pointed out, as well. At the same time, the demographic consequences that gender-based sex selection may cause in the future and the negative consequences of gender imbalance were discussed, and the importance of the value parents give to their daughters was emphasized.

At the meetings, a presentation on the topic was presented, educational materials were distributed, and the participants' questions were answered.
