On April 11, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Ganja Autism Center, which was established by the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the support of the "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company (JSC), and the organization of the "Joint and Healthy" Public Union, was held as part of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev".

Aytan Eynalova, the Chair of "Birge va Sağlam" Public Union, made an opening speech and gave extensive information about the project. In addition to the city of Ganja, the risk group of people with autism spectrum disorders and their families were included in the project in Dashkasan, Goygol, Goranboy, Shamkir, Tovuz regions. The children in need of special educational support have been identified and relevant training have been started for them by local and international specialists.

Speaking at the event, Aynur Sofiyeva, Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs noted that the Autism Center will make an important contribution to the region as well as the city of Ganja. She said that this project will play an important role in supporting people and their families with autism spectrum disorders, involving them in services, training specialists, and conducting awareness work in the region.

A. Sofiyeva noted that the state implements a purposeful policy in the direction of providing access to services and social support for vulnerable people.

Emphasizing the attention given to this field by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under the leadership of Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President. A. Sofiyeva noted that the opening of the Center is the next project in this direction.

The Deputy Chair gave information about the cooperation with "Birge va Sağlam" Public Union and said that this cooperation will continue successfully in the future.

Sahib Alakbarov, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Niyazi Bayramov, Head of Ganja City Executive Authority, Khayyam Farzaliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of "AzerGold" CJSC, Jamil Aliyev Head of Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Research and Promotion Department of Heydar Aliyev Heritage spoke at the event organized in the World Autism Awareness Month and shared their thoughts about the project.

Later, the guests got acquainted with the process of training and recovery organized for children on a completely free basis in accordance with the needs of pre-school education, qualification acquisition, self-management and independent behavior skills at the Ganja Autism Center, as well as visited an exhibition of drawings and handicrafts of autistic children.
