On April 8, 2023, the second "Children's Book Festival" is held with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Culture, as well as the Ministry of Science and Education, and the initiative of the "Azerbaijan Publishing Association" Public Union.

The Festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the memory of those who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute's silence.

Shamil Sadiq, the Chairman of ANAIB, founding director of Hadaf Group, who gave an opening speech, welcomed the participants. He said that many of the publishing houses operating in the country today are members of ANAIB. Noting that the organization started this way with the slogan "We go to the regions with books", S.Sadiq told that they have already started promoting books in our regions: "I think that if we raise children who read and want to develop themselves, we will contribute to the bright future of our country. By organizing such an exhibition in our country, we increase our children's love for books. This is one of our priorities. About 20,000 people participated in last year's festival, but this year we intend to increase this number to 50,000. We aim to make this festival an international festival in the coming years."

Speaking at the festival, Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the Committee expressed her pride in participating in the festival as one of the organizers. Noting that being friends with books will make our path to the future easier, the Chairman evaluated the held festival as the best supporter of this work. Remembering the festival of last year, she said that she was welcomed by a large crowd this year as well.

Expressing her gratitude to the other organizers of the festival, especially Shamil Bey, who was the initiator, B. Muradova emphasized that he is leading an honorable path towards the promotion of book work on a national scale, creating a union of publishers, developing the publishing business, and smoothing the relationship between books and society.

The Chairman of the Committee said that each participant was united by only one value: the book and love for it: "Everyone who has this love in his heart is a useful person for his country, state and people, a citizen who contributes to society. I feel happy that we support the formation of such people. Investment in children is investment in our future. Funds invested in books are funds invested in society."

In the continuation of her speech, she expressed her belief that the number of organizers of the festival will increase in the coming years, and many private companies and business subjects will support this work along with state institutions.

Noting that the festival was held within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" and honoring the National Leader with great respect, B. Muradova spoke about Heydar Aliyev's great services to the state and society, and emphasized that his greatest service was to inspire love and respect for books and book work in his example. At the end of her speech, she paid tribute to our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity and security of our country, wished recovery to the veterans, and thanked the families and parents who raised such children. She concluded her thoughts by saying that she believes that the heroes of the future will grow out of the children who buy a book at the festival and rush to read it.

Ganira Pashayeva, the MP, Chair of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, said that a person's closest and most loyal friend is a book, an educated, wise person is spiritually enriched by books.

Remembering National Leader Heydar Aliyev's opinion that "Our future will depend a lot on what and how we teach our children and young people", the deputy noted that this festival is the best example of the great leader's ideas.

At a time when social media and video contents have become children's priority, G. Pashayeva expressed her gratitude to the organizers of such a useful event, especially ANAIB, which made children love books, and expressed her belief that the festival will be held with greater enthusiasm and excitement in the coming years.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva made a speech and emphasized the importance of holding such festivals at a time when the interest in books is decreasing and wished that such exhibitions would continue in the coming years.

Elnur Nasibov, the Chairman of the Education Development Fund, expressed his gratitude for the organization of the event and noted the importance of such book fairs in terms of promoting reading culture.

Talking about the advantages of the book in ensuring the efficiency of children's free time, increasing their outlook, and strengthening mental development, E. Nasibov added that parents should be our best partners in increasing interest in books.
