Mrs. Bahar Muradova met with the ambassador of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

The Chairperson of the State Committee met with Mr. Christopher Alberto Martinez Berroteran, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on March 13, 2023.Welcoming the guests, Mrs. Bahar Muradova thanked for the meeting initiative. Talking about the relations between the two countries that have been developing in recent years, the chairperson said that Azerbaijan's entry into the Non-Aligned Movement headed by Venezuela played a very important role in this process. She spoke about the role of Venezuela and Azerbaijan in the emergence and increasing importance of various platforms of the Movement in recent years, and also emphasized that these activities made a great contribution to the process.
Mrs. B. Muradova noted the importance of the creation of the Movement's Parliamentary Platform and said that the establishment of international relations does not exclude cooperation around the values that unite countries. She added that, therefore, we should continue the rapprochement policy initiated by our presidents and find appropriate forms of cooperation.
Talking about gender equality, the chairperson said that after gaining independence, Azerbaijan has come a long way in this field.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the ambassador expressed his belief that the current relations between Venezuela and Azerbaijan will continue to develop effectively. Mr. Christopher Alberto Martínez Berroteran, who paid attention to the Non-Aligned Movement, said that both countries made great contributions to the strengthening of this Movement during their temporary chairmanship, and also highly appreciated Azerbaijan's initiatives in the new spheres of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Speaking about the active representation of women in state building and administration, the ambassador noted that for more than 20 years, women in the country have been working for the preservation of independence along with men.
Mr. Christopher Alberto Martínez Berroteran talking about numerous legislative documents adopted by his country regarding women and children's rights in the recent period. He added that these adopted laws will also contribute to the protection of values and the formation of the young generation and families. It was noted that overlapping interests will make a significant contribution to further development of relations between our countries.
During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views on issues of mutual interest was made and possible future cooperation projects were discussed also.
