A conference presentation of the "Women's Agenda" - Platform for National Public Dialogue was held

On March 7, 2023, a conference was held in Azerbaijan on the presentation of the "Women's Agenda" - National Dialogue Platform to the public.

The event was held with the participation of state institutions, diplomatic corps, women and gender organizations, government officials, international partners, and other interested parties.

Discussions at the event focused on gender equality and women's empowerment, women's leadership, and women's representation in political, economic, social, and cultural decision-making processes.

The founder of FemACT Azerbaijan Women's Fund, Parvana Mammadova informed about the purpose of establishing the National Dialogue Process on defining the "Women's Agenda" in Azerbaijan. Noting that the presentation ceremony of the platform was dedicated to Women's Day, P. Mammadova underlined that nine working groups were formed within the platform formed with the participation of non-governmental organizations, experts on gender issues, women's cooperatives, community-based leaders, and village women.

The Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, delivered a welcoming speech and congratulated all women on the occasion of International Women's Day, which was created in terms of women getting their rights, and celebrating their achievements.

B. Muradova noted that although our activities in all directions are aimed at people, their interests, and safety, on the other hand, our capabilities are aimed at eliminating the reasons that deprive them of this.

Emphasizing that this initiative of the public sector is welcomed by the government, the Chairperson of the State Committee mentioned that it is possible to solve the problems and achieve the expected results only by combining efforts collectively. She added, "We will try to solve all the raised issues, problems, difficulties, and important directions together."

Also, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, and Head of the Department of Work with Mass Media and Public Relations of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Elshad Hajiyev gave their speech during this conference.

Later, Vladanka Andreeva, Resident Coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan, Fergus Auld Obe, Ambassador of Great Britain to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, Ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan, Pauline Eizame, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Tobias Lorentson, Ambassador of Sweden to Azerbaijan, emphasized that gender equality is an issue on the global agenda and addressed everyone to unite efforts to protect women's fundamental rights and support their activities.
