Within the framework of the European Union and Council of Europe joint program "Partnership for Good Governance II" representatives of relevant state structures of Azerbaijan made a study visit to Madrid, Spain.
Employees of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Vafa Alakbarova and Aytekin Hajiyeva participated in the study trip aimed at familiarizing with the best practices in the field of prevention and fighting violence against women.

During the 3-day study visit, the participants had meetings at the Spanish Ministry of Equality, the State Observatory for Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, the Specialized Court on Gender-Based Violence, the Family and Women's Center at the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate for Coordination and Research, the State Secretariat for Security, and the "Cometa" and 016 management centers.

During the meetings, authorized representatives of these structures provided extensive information about Spain's experience in preventing and combating gender-based violence,as well as the activities of specialized courts, civil society and call centers in this field.
