The State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the American Council Professional Development Program on International Education, with the support of the Ministry of Education, held another online training on socio-emotional learning for school psychologists in Baku and Sumgayit.

During the training, school psychologists were trained by R.Keeth Matheny, an American expert who won the 2021 CASEL Mary Utne Obrien Award for her research on “Social and Emotional Learning” (SEL) about the psychological characteristics of children who have been subjected to violence, the cases observed in children who have attempted suicide, psycho-social work with children with suicidal thoughts by and group discussions were held.

It should be noted that about 300 school psychologists working in Baku and Sumgayit participated in the "School Psychologist" project implemented by the State Committee since November last year. During the training, the specialists informed the psychologists about the psychological characteristics of different ages, children with special needs, as well as the organization of work with children exposed to violence (sexual, mental, physical), and effective methods of meetings with parents.
