Throughout history, Armenian nationalists, who want to realize the idea of "Greater Armenia", have not given up their ugly intentions and carried out ethnic cleansing and genocide against our compatriots.
One of the most terrible tragedies against the Azerbaijani people was committed in March-April 1918. Tens of thousands of our compatriots as a result of the genocide of Azerbaijanis by Baku Soviet troops and Dashnak Armenian armed groups were killed for their religious affiliation, and settlements, historical monuments, mosques, and cemeteries were destroyedin Baku and various regions of Baku province, as well as in Karabakh, Nakhchivan, Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Salyan, Zangazur and other areas from March 30 to April 3.
We have once again witnessed the ongoing terrorist acts of Armenians against our people during the Second Karabakh War. The threat of landmines continues in the post-conflict period. Several mass graves found in our liberated lands are clear proof of Armenian vandalism. Mass graves and human remains were found in Kalbajar, in Bashlibel, around Shusha, near Edilli village of Khojavend, and in Farrukh village of Khojaly region.
In order to commemorate all the genocide tragedies committed against the Azerbaijani people, on March 26, 1998, National Leader Heydar Aliyev signed the Decree "On the Genocide of Azerbaijanis" and March 31 was declared the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
On January 18, 2018, President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order "On the 100th anniversary of the 1918 genocide of Azerbaijanis."
Despite repeated attempts by Armenians to erase the memory of the people's blood, this was not possible, and our country has won a victory over the enemy, restoring historical justice. As a result of the diplomacy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the policy of terrorism, military aggression and armed separatism pursued by Armenia is exposed. Thanks to our victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, by liberating our ancient lands from occupation, Azerbaijan has strengthened its place and role in the international arena, and further strengthened the confidence of its people in the future.
