An event was organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs on the occasion of March 8 - International Women`s Day.

After the sounding of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event began and a film about the state women's policy was shown.

Then Mrs. Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration sounded the congratulation of President Ilham Aliyev to Azerbaijani women.

In her opening speech, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the State Committee greeted the participants. She expressed her deep gratitude to the President for his kind words and sincere wishes, noting that his tasks will be consistently fulfilled, and efforts will be increased for the welfare and prosperity of our country.

Noting that the state women's policy defined by the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the 90s, the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, patron and great supporter, continues in accordance with modern requirements and challenges.

The chairperson of the committee spoke about the development of science and culture in Azerbaijan, as well as congratulated the women for their important services in the social-political sphere. Afterwards, the winners of the "Development" competition were awarded with honorary diplomas.
