An event on "Gender equality in the civil service: current situation and challenges" was held

The State Examination Center, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs and the German Society for International Cooperation (GiZ) will jointly organize trainings on "Gender Equality in the Civil Service: Current Situation and Challenges" on October 11, 2021.
The event was attended by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as well as officials of government agencies and public services on gender issues under the relevant ministries.
Mr. Bahram Khalilov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Center, opened the event with an introductory speech, emphasizing the urgency of these trainings on gender equality and the importance of measures to address women's issues and gender inequality. Giving information about the essence and content of the Curriculum on Gender Equality in the Civil Service, Khalilov spoke about ensuring gender equality in the civil service.
Elgun Safarov, Deputy Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, made a presentation entitled "Ensuring Gender Equality and Combating Stereotypes" and spoke about the negative effects of gender stereotypes on individuals and society and ways to avoid them.
Vugar Asgarov, Head of the Legal Support and Civil Service Department of the Center, made a presentation on "Gender equality in public administration: international obligations and national norms." The participants were informed about the measures taken to improve the legislation, the role of gender equality in public policy and the state's international commitments on gender equality.
Elnur Abbasov, Sector Director of the Center, gave general information on the “Curriculum on Gender Equality in the Civil Service”, made presentations on “Civil Service Recruitment Mechanisms and Gender Equality in the Civil Service” and “Gender Equality in the Civil Service Promotion and Reserve Management”. The issues of practical aspects of gender equality in the civil service, application mechanisms to achieve gender equality were touched upon.
The event continued with a discussion of topical issues on gender equality in the civil service.
At the end, the participants were presented certificates.
