Training on "Combating trafficking in human beings"

A training on " Combating trafficking in human beings" was held on October 9, 2017, within the framework of the project entitled "Strengthening employment opportunities and professional qualifications of refugees and IDP girls with incomplete education", jointly implemented by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs (SCFWCA) and UNESCO. Participants were given detailed information on international legislation on anti-trafficking and the "National Plan of Action on Combating against Trafficking in Human Beings" of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 6, 2009, as well as the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Combating Trafficking in Human Beings" adopted on June 28, 2005. Also, the themes such as "What is the trafficking of women?", "Who are the victims of women trafficking?", "Causes of trafficking in women", "The means of attracting women to become trafficking victims" “Three directions: sexual exploitation, forced labor and transplantation of human organisms" were discussed with participants in order to raise awareness among the society.
The aim of the training is to educate participants on international and national mechanisms for the protection of human rights, especially women's rights, ensure gender equality and economic independence of women, as well as awareness raising of society on human trafficking problem, especially among vulnerable groups of society who might be potential victims of human trafficking.
Booklets on "Don’t be a victim of trafficking in human beings " were distributed to trainees.
