The Deputy Chairman of the State Committee, Sadagat Gahramanova, who gave an opening speech at the training on "Gender equality and local governance", spoke about the importance of regularly implemented educational trainings in this direction.

Stating the importance of improving the activities of Gender Commissions established in municipalities, the deputy chairperson added that these commissions can directly contribute to the formation of gender relations in those families by identifying families from the risk group.

Then, trainer-gender specialist Ms. Shahla Ismayil made a presentation and talked about the concept and framework of gender equality, gender vocabulary and explanation of basic concepts, causes and consequences of gender inequality.

Then a video about gender roles in the family was shown.

The training continued with the 2nd session entitled "Gender equality in the local government sector". Within the framework of the session, discussions were held on gender policy and legislative framework in our country, international gender obligations of Azerbaijan, application of gender principles in local administration.

It should be noted that the Committee regularly conducts trainings in order to increase the level of awareness of the rights and duties of municipalities, existing problems in the direction of ensuring gender equality, and the duties of gender commissions related to the promotion of gender equality.
