On May 19, 1998, under the leadership of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Law on "Children's Rights" was adopted in order to regulate the issues related to children's rights and ensure the protection of these rights.

This Law defines the rights and freedoms of children in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the main principles of the state policy regarding children, the duties of state bodies and other legal and natural persons in the field of their protection, and regulates the main directions of family, society and child relations.
