The purpose of the festival, which is held with the participation of families from all regions of Azerbaijan, especially families of veterans and guests from fraternal Turkey, is to focus the attention of the society on family issues, to take complex measures to preserve and strengthen the family institution based on national and moral values.

Before the festival, the families visited the Alley of Honor, paid tribute to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan, and laid flowers in front of his grave. A bouquet of flowers was placed on the grave of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and her dear memory was commemorated with respect.

Then the guests who came to the Alley of Martyrs visited the graves of the heroic children of the Motherland, who died in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and laid flowers on them.

The guests also visited the "Turkish Martyrdom" monument erected in memory of martyred Turkish soldiers and laid flowers in front of it.

They visited the grave of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, Martyrs' Alley and the "Turkish Martyrdom" monument, laid flowers, and paid tribute to their memories.

Later, the festival started.

At the festival, the importance that Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader and the architect of our independent statehood gave to the family values of Azerbaijan, his attention and care for families was especially emphasized, and the valuable words he said about families were brought to attention. It was noted that the great leader's family, built on solid foundations, is an invaluable example to everyone.

Even today, President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva pay great attention and concern to the protection of national and moral values. Important measures are being taken to further improve the welfare of families.

Attention was drawn to the participation of a large delegation from Turkey in the event, and the importance of unity, solidarity and brotherhood of the Turkic world was emphasized.

Speaking, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the Committee greeted all families and congratulated them on the occasion of "International Family Day". She noted that today is not only a family holiday, but also a holiday of national value and tradition. It is the day when national and moral values clearly reveal themselves.

The Chair of the Committee said that today, as always, Azerbaijan stands by the brotherly country and highly appreciated the participation of our Turkish brothers in the Festival together with their children and families. Muradova added that last week, the "Khari Bulbul" festival, which has become a tradition, was held at a high level, with the participation of well-known art figures of the Turkish world, and the opening ceremony of declaring Shusha the cultural capital of the Turkish world was held.

Talking about the state family policy in Azerbaijan, the chairman noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev defined a state policy by combining the national values of Azerbaijan with modern democratic values. Thanks to this policy, the new generation has the opportunity to grow up in a spiritual environment, in a family environment, and to have democratic traditions. "Today, the achievements of the state, the social sphere, including our culture and history, are the wealth of all our youth and will be passed on to future generations," she added.

The chairman of the committee noted that the purpose of the festival is to communicate, to once again convey to society that family values and national-moral values are important, to emphasize once again that the strength and purity of the family is the basis of society and state life, and to make a call to treat the family more seriously. She emphasized that the celebration of the Festival in the park named after Nizami, one of the great personalities who is the pride and honor of Azerbaijan, is clear proof of how loyal we are to our national values.

Mr. Hulusi Golpinar, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey expressed his gratitude for being invited to Azerbaijan, the motherland of the Turks, on this wonderful day, and noted that in those difficult days when Turkey experienced the earthquake, they saw the world's greatest assistance and solidarity, especially Azerbaijan and the Turkish states. He emphasized that the brothers have been working to help since the first day.

Mrs. Malahat Ibrahimgizi, the Member of Parliament emphasized that Mother's Day is celebrated all over the world, as well as in our country, and said that mothers are the pillars of the family. She assessed the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, as the centenary of the entire Turkic world.

M. Ibrahimgizi said that family values are the most sacred among national values for the Turkish people, especially in the culture of Azerbaijan, and family values are always held in high regard. She drew attention to the threats faced by the family institution in recent years and said that there is no future for nations that do not protect this value.

Recalling the views of the head of the country, Ilham Aliyev, regarding the protection and development of family values, the deputy talked about the state family policy. She added that the International Family Day, held regularly by the State Committee, has already become a tradition and a holiday in Azerbaijan, and this is the most obvious example of state policy.

The festival is organized with interesting and educational games for children in the corners "Heydar Aliyev - 100 years", "Azerbaijan-homeland", "Let's learn to create", "Green World", "Let's read", "National heritage" and "Creative hands" and continued with special entertainment programs.
