At the meeting with the members of the new staff of the public council, the information on the results of the election was first heard from Sadagat Kahramanova, the Deputy Chair of the State Committee, and the Chairman of the Commission on Elections to the Public Council.

Then the main issues of the agenda were discussed. In accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Public Participation", a vote was held among the members of the delegation to be elected to the positions of the chairman of the council, its deputies and the secretary of the Council.

Fariz Akbarov ("Legal-Social Aid and Education" Public Union) was elected as the Chairman of the Public Council, Naila Ismayilova ("Yeni Hayat" Humanitarian and Social Support Public Union) and Aynur Zulfugarova ("Women and "Support to Innovative Education of Children" Public Union) were elected as deputy chairmen of the council, Sabina Karimova ("Support to Social Protection and Integration of Persons with Disabilities" Public Union) was elected by a majority of the members as a secretary of the Public Council, which will operate for a period of two years.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee, congratulated the representatives of non-governmental organizations who were elected as members of the council by successfully conducting the election process, and pointed out that they will be given all kinds of support in the implementation of the powers and obligations established by law, for the implementation of the state policy in this area. She said that the cooperation with the Public Council will be efficient and sustainable in the implementation of the measures taken by the State Committee.

She also wished success to the State Committee, noting that it believes that this cooperation will make a great contribution to ensuring transparency and openness in the field of studying and taking into account the interests of citizens, including public opinion.

Then, opinions and proposals were voiced regarding the activities of the Public Council. Council members said that they will closely participate in the events carried out by the State Committee and will contribute to the more efficient organization of public discussions.
