On February 24, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova met with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to Azerbaijan Anne Boyon.
Welcoming the guests, Chairperson of the State Committee Bahar Muradova expressed gratitude for the initiative of the meeting and congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of her activity in Azerbaijan.

She noted that the State Committee works closely with the relevant UN organizations.

Noting that last year at the 82nd session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women the Government of Azerbaijan had presented its sixth periodic report under the CEDAW Convention and in January of this year its fifth and sixth joint periodic report under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Chairperson added that both presentations had been highly appreciated and the recommendations given corresponded to our future goals.
Speaking about reconstruction and construction works in the territories liberated from the occupation, Muradova said that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to overcoming the difficulties of the war-affected population, ensuring their return to their homeland in safe conditions and living peacefully.
She noted that the threat of mines in the liberated lands still persists, which hampers the process of returning the population to their homeland.

The Ambassador thanked for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two countries will develop further. Saying protection of women's rights is one of the main priorities of her activity, Ambassador Anne Boyon welcomed the activity of the State Committee and expressed willingness for mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, issues of joint cooperation in the field of protecting women's rights, ensuring gender equality, combating domestic violence were discussed and prospects for the future were raised.
