On October 21, with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the final conference of the project "Organization of social work with the victims of gender-based violence" was held by the Social Work Public Union.

Mrs. Amalya Sezgin, the co-founder of the Social Work Public Union, who gave an opening speech at the conference, gave extensive information about the organization and the project. Later, Mrs. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Chief of Staff of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, emphasized the importance of the project and said that the field of social work is currently developing rapidly. She informed about the measures and projects implemented by the State Committee on gender-based violence and noted that in some cases, improper coverage of gender-based violence, suicide and other negative situations in mass media and social networks leads to the promotion of such situations.

At the event, the staff of the Committee made a presentation entitled "Gender concept in the law and legal aspects of gender equality", and "Gender-based violence and psychological approaches".

Mrs. Sitara Ahmadova, director of Shuvelan Children and Family Support Center, and Mrs. Sara Aghayeva, an employee of Social Services Agency, gave speeches on gender-based violence and social work, services provided to victims of violence, social service and rehabilitation, and other topics.

In the end, Mr. Sanan Agayev, executive director of the Social Work Public Union, expressed his gratitude to the institutions that supported the implementation of the project and the participants in the conference.

Social workers, psychologists and university students participated in the conference.
