On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child Bahar Muradova held a meeting with active girls

On October 7, 2020, Mrs.Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, held a meeting with active girls as part of the campaign dedicated to the International Day of Girl Child.
The meeting was attended by 22 girls aged 13-17, including those from vulnerable groups.
Welcoming the guests, the Chairperson of the Committee Mrs.B. Muradova thanked the organizers for the initiative to hold the meeting, as well as the participants for demonstrating social activity and civic position at their age. She spoke about the history of the first secular school for girls in the Muslim East, founded in Baku on the initiative of Zeynalabdin Tagiyev.
According to her, the establishment of the International Day of the Girl Child in 2011 is of great importance in terms of equal participation and ensuring girls' rights.
She mentioned that the goal of the International Day of the Girl Child campaign is to empower girls from an early age, increase their self-confidence and social activity, promote the value of girls in society and the importance of creating equal opportunities for them to realize their potential.
The meeting continued with discussions on topics of interest to the participants.
