Mrs. Bahar Muradova met with a delegation of the Women's Entrepreneurs Club of Uzbekistan

On June 29, 2022, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs welcomed a delegation of the Club of Women Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and expressed her satisfaction with seeing them.
Speaking about the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan, the Chair of the Committee spoke about the sincere relations between the two countries, the hospitality of the Uzbek people and the love for Azerbaijan there. During the meeting, Mrs. Muradova drew attention to the decision of the leaders of the two countries to intensify visits at various levels, noting that the current meeting is a direct result of this agreement. Noting that the relations between the two countries are based on brotherhood, unity and friendship, the Chair added that these relations have a historical character.
Noting Uzbekistan's support in international relations, Mrs. Bahar Muradova noted that documents were adopted to raise relations to the level of a strategic alliance. Today, Azerbaijan has liberated its lands from occupation and is doing its best to establish lasting peace in the region.
Speaking about the activities of the State Committee, the Chair of the Committee added that the ultimate goals are to protect family values, strengthen women, ensure gender equality, eliminate gender-based discrimination, ensure children's rights and increase the effectiveness of enforcement mechanisms. She also noted that it is important to increase the participation of women in the labor market, to facilitate their creation of business entities, to make an adequate contribution to the value created in the country.
The head of the delegation of the Club of Women Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan Mrs. Nadira Shotursunova thanked the Chair of the Committee for the warm welcome and introduced the members of the delegation. She spoke about the gender policy implemented in Uzbekistan, the newly adopted gender strategy in the country, as well as the progress made in recent years to ensure equality between women and men.
Speaking about the activities of the Women's Entrepreneurs Club, Shotursunova expressed confidence that the recent Business Forum in Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the near future in Turkmenistan, will be held in Azerbaijan. The head of the delegation noted the words of the Speaker of the Uzbek Parliament Mrs. Tanzila Narbayeva, who was always open to cooperation between the two countries for the implementation of various projects and events, as well as the invitation to Uzbekistan.
Participating in the meeting, Mrs. Sakina Babayeva, Chair of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, shared her views on the memorandum of cooperation signed today between the Associations of Women Entrepreneurs of the two countries. She said that a number of problems in ensuring women's rights have been eliminated through the economic strengthening of women, and cooperation between the two countries in this area will serve to strengthen resources by taking joint steps.
Deputy Chair of the State Committee Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova informed about the activities of gender commissions established in municipalities. Noting that positive results have been achieved in increasing the economic opportunities of women and their economic empowerment in the past years, she stressed the importance of cooperation in this field as two brotherly countries with close traditions, history and values.
