The elimination of all forms of child labor by 2025 is one of the goals of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2002, the goal of this day is to raise public awareness of the issue and to push for the elimination of child labor.
The Republic of Azerbaijan has ratified ILO conventions on the minimum age for employment, as well as the prohibition of the worst forms of child labor and urgent measures for its elimination.
In addition, the national legislation does not allow children under the age of 15 to work.
The exploitation of child labor causes children to drop out of school and negatively affects their physical and mental development.
The State Committee, for its part, conducts awareness-raising activities to prevent the exploitation of child labor, and collaborates with representatives of the relevant authorities to address this issue.
