A meeting was held with members of the monitoring group on gender violence and violence against children established in the Executive Power of Absheron District in order to implement the “National Action Plan on Combating Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023” and to strengthen measures to prevent domestic violence and raise awareness in the field of combating violence in the regions.

The meeting was attended by members of the monitoring group on gender violence and violence against children established in the Executive Powers of Khizi and Siyazan districts and Sumgayit city.

Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chair of the State Committee spoke about the need to take preventive measures to prevent domestic violence. She stressed the importance of using the opportunities of municipalities in this direction.

In their speeches, the chairmen of the monitoring groups informed about the appeals directed to the monitoring groups regarding the cases of domestic violence and the work done in this field, as well as a number of issues arising from family relations.

Later, Mr.Tural Huseynzadeh, Chief Adviser of the Legal Support Department of the State Committee conducted a training on "Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence" for Youth and Teachers of Vocational High School.

During the training, participants were given detailed information on the topic, discussed the problems encountered in the prevention of domestic violence and their solutions.
