The meeting was attended by Farid Adilov, the head of the International relations and protocol services department of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs.
During the three-day session, the parties exchanged views on the impact of war and conflict on women, including the impact of the war in Ukraine on women.
The sessions included thematic discussions on gender stereotypes, combating and preventing sexism, combating violence against women and girls, ensuring equality of women and men in political and public decision-making, as well as women's equal access to justice.
During the sessions, Farid Adilov informed participants about the activities carried out in the country in line with the topics discussed.
Noting that Azerbaijan has also long suffered from conflict, he shared the country's experience in building the resilience of conflict-affected women and briefed country representatives on gender policy, existing legislation to eradicate domestic violence, and the national action plan adopted. In addition, the information was provided on the activities carried out and planned jointly with the Baku Office of the Council of Europe.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to conduct a survey among member states on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women's access to justice and to prepare a study based on the experiences of member states.
