A meeting was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Guba in order to strengthen the implementation of the "National Action Plan to Combat Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023", as well as the measures to prevent domestic violence and raise awareness in the fight against violence in the regions.

The meeting was attended by members of the monitoring group on Gender Violence and Violence against Children of the Executive Powers of Gusar, Khachmaz and Shabran districts.

Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs stressed the importance of providing more flexible support to victims of domestic violence, issuing protection orders, placing victims in shelters if necessary, as well as responding to incidents of violence when carrying out the activities of the monitoring groups on Gender Violence and Violence against Children established in the executive authorities, guided by the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Prevention of Domestic Violence".

The chairmen of the monitoring groups spoke at the meeting and informed them about works done, and the appeals to the district executive authorities on a number of issues arising from family relations, etc.

Later, Tural Huseynzadeh, Chief Adviser of the Legal Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, conducted training on "Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence" for young people studying at the Vocational High School of Guba region.

The participants were given detailed information in this regard, their questions were answered, the problems encountered in the prevention of domestic violence and a number of issues in this area were discussed during the training.
