On April 22, 2022, during the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Turkey led by Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the activities of the Center for Prevention and Monitoring of Violence of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Ankara were reviewed by the delegation.
It was noted that the Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers, which were launched in 14 pilot provinces about 10 years ago, now operate in 81 provinces. The Center for Combating and Controlling Violence (7/24), which has been in operation since 2012, supports the needs of women and their children who are victims of violence.
The staff of the Center made a presentation and noted that the victims of violence can apply to the Centers directly, through the police or other agencies. 183 Social Support Lines also provided assistance in this regard.
It was also noted that the centers employ professionals from various fields, such as psychologists, social workers, sociologists and police liaison officers, to meet the needs of victims of violence and their children.
Thus, in the Centers and Women's Guest Houses, the needs of the victims are first of all met, and according to them, psychological, social, economic, and legal support, as well as shelter is provided.
Later, they got acquainted with the activities of the Social Service Center, such as education, training and accommodation.
It was noted that the Center provides easy access to social services for children, youth, women, men, people with disabilities, the elderly and their families on the basis of social services aimed at intervening and harassment, protection, prevention, support, development, guidance and counseling. At the same time, it cooperates with institutions and organizations, local governments, universities, non-governmental organizations and volunteers.
In conclusion, the chair of the State Committee wished success to the work of the Centers and spoke about the existing opportunities and prospects for joint activities with Turkey.
