A roundtable discussion organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was held in Baku on April 20 to discuss the role of women in STEM (Science - Science, Technology - Technology, Engineering - Engineering, Math - Mathematics).

The roundtable participants discussed the role of women in STEM areas, explored strategies and opportunities to increase women's participation in these areas, and identified key factors that play an important role in accelerating this process at the local and national levels.

The roundtable was organized as part of the "Women in STEM" campaign implemented by the UNDP Accelerator Laboratory.

The main goal of the campaign is to draw attention to the diversity of people working in STEM through awareness events, webinars and mentoring programs. The goal of the campaign is to encourage young women and girls living in Azerbaijan to graduate from areas where their skills are in high demand and to help them find support from their peers and families when it comes to career choices.
