Research shows that frequent reading is very important for young children to develop their interest in primary reading, the formation of a culture of listening, the development of the emotional sphere and the growth of their worldview. Books increase the base of words and expressions, and create conditions for a deeper understanding of life in the future. Every book read today will contribute to all aspects of life in the future. Making reading a regular behavior, loving reading and listening to books, sharing and helping others to read books also enriches a person's spiritual world.

According to experts, if parents start creating their own library for each child from the age of 2, they will be more enthusiastic about books. At the same time, because children often repeat what they see, parents' love of reading and preaching is a better example for them.

It is also important from an environmental point of view that books should not be left on the shelves after being read, but shared. Because books are made of paper and paper is made of wood, it is possible to prevent more trees from being cut down by teaching children to love books, keep them neat and share them. In this way, we can also encourage children to protect the environment, love nature and not harm it.

Taking into account the abovementioned, as well as the importance of the "State Program on the use of the Azerbaijani language in the context of globalization and the development of linguistics in the country", the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs launches a social awareness project "Read and Share". Within the framework of the project, volunteers and teams will send books to children living in Baku and the regions, after using these books, children will transfer them to their peers living in the same region and expand the scope of the project, more children will benefit.

The project, which is expected to continue until the end of this year, was launched on April 1, 2022 at the Shuvalan Child and Family Support Center. On the eve of the International Children's Book Day on April 2, children were informed about the project and the correct application of the Azerbaijani literary language were presented with the collected books and recommended to share the books with their peers after reading.

Later, some of the books presented were read with the children.

Considering the importance of the project, which will cover the regions and bring a smile to the faces and joy to the hearts of children, we invite community members to take an active part in the project. Each book presented will be a positive contribution to the spiritual world of children.
