On March 31, 2022, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the Public Council under the Committee jointly organized a round table dedicated to the Genocide of Azerbaijanis. The event aims to inform the public about the truth about the crimes committed against our people, to protect the national memory of future generations and perpetuate the memory of the victims of the genocide.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the genocide.

Mr. Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Public Council under the State Committee, who moderated the round table, greeted the guests and noted that these events committed by Armenian nationalists in the regions of Azerbaijan are one of the most tragic pages in the history of Azerbaijan. He noted that Armenians continued these actions for many years, subjected our people to terror and genocide, and committed war crimes during the Great Patriotic War. He stressed that the national leader Heydar Aliyev gave a legal assessment to this day after a long time, noting that important work has been done to convey the truth about these events to the world community.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee spoke about the importance of this tragic day, which is forever engraved in the memory of our people, and thanked the members of the public council for the initiative to hold such an event. She noted that Azerbaijan has been subjected to occupations, genocides and ruthless crimes for many years, and these events were not given an international assessment, and a sign of equality was set between the perpetrator and the victim. Mrs. Muradova noted that as a continuation of the policy pursued by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev, as a continuation of Azerbaijan's development policy, got rid of the centuries-old syndrome of defeat and put an end to slavery within its means. At the same time, the chairwoman spoke about the important activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in this field under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva.

By properly assessing the processes taking place in the international arena, we must convey these truths to the world community at every opportunity, remain silent until the criminal acts are assessed as worthy, and take important steps by combining political and economic opportunities-he said.

MP, Doctor of Philology, Professor Nizami Jafarov noted that this bloody event left an indelible mark on the history of Azerbaijan. He stressed that we must intensify our propaganda in the international arena, using all available means to pass on the real history to future generations. He stressed that the topic of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations has been frequently addressed in Azerbaijani literature since the 19th century. At the same time, N.Jafarov noted that these points were noted in the works of representatives of our classical literature J.Mammadguluzade, Y.V.Chamanzaminli, M.S.Ordubadi and others and in some of their unpublished writings. At the same time, the scientist noted that as a result of today's research, it is possible to reveal in these manuscripts the ambiguous attitude of Armenians towards our people.

MP, Doctor of Law, Professor Nizami Safarov said that the day of the genocide was one of the bloodiest pages in history, and about 50,000 people were killed as a result of crimes committed in different regions. He noted that for the first time in our modern history, these events were given a legal assessment by the decree of Heydar Aliyev dated March 26, 1998.

Speaking about the history of the concept of genocide and explaining it in detail, the scientist said that this genocide committed by Armenians includes the concept of cultural genocide. Drawing attention to the double standards of the international community, the scientist said that, unlike a number of terrorist acts in the world, no court tribunals have been established against terrorist acts committed in Khojaly, as well as in some parts of Azerbaijan.

At the end of the event, a statement was made on behalf of the roundtable participants.
