Implementation of a “Gender-sensitive innovative communication and media campaign to promote parental leave policy based on gender equality” project has been launched in the framework of the “EU for Gender Equality: Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” (EU4GE) program jointly implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Women (UN Women) with the financial support of the European Union.

On January 26, 2022 a round table on "Gender-based parental leave policy in Azerbaijan: realities and prospects" was held as part of a project implemented by the Regional Development Public Union. The event, organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center, was attended by MPs, representatives of relevant government agencies, international and non-governmental organizations.

The purpose of the event is to promote the policy of paid and gender-based parental leave reflected in the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Thus, the policy of parental leave based on gender equality reflects the harmonious and effective coordination of work and family life for both women and men, the elimination of social inequalities, the division of responsibilities between women and men.
