Prospects for cooperation were discussed during the meeting in Fizuli

During the visit, the Chairperson of the State Committee Ms.Bahar Muradova met with the  Head of the Executive Power of Fizuli region Ali Aliyev, Acting Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Azerbaijan Charu Bist and other guests.

Welcoming the participants, the head of the Fizuli District Executive Power Ali Aliyev noted that the project will support the development of communities in the regions, especially in the liberated territories and will play an important role in meeting the needs of the people.

Then the chairperson of the State Committee Bahar Muradova thanked the head of the district executive power for the support.

B. Muradova stressed that he long-term cooperation between the Committee and the UN Development Program, the impact of the positive results of joint projects on people's lives. She also noted the importance of establishing the Horadiz Community Resource Center and implementing community-oriented projects as the first pilot project.

It was noted that the Patriotic War resulted in the loss of civilian lives and hundreds of people were injured, psychologically traumatized, as well as deprived of basic necessities of life. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbates the plight of women, children, and people with disabilities, who are vulnerable.

Ms. Bahar Muradova noted that the implemented projects will help not only women, but also all victims of the war, including children and people with disabilities. She also noted that there is a need to establish and expand the activities of community resource centers in other liberated areas.

Acting Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Azerbaijan, Charu Bist, stressed that the projects implemented jointly with the Government of Azerbaijan and a number of international partners always focus on vulnerable groups. Charu Bist said that the projects aimed at providing support in both psychosocial and other areas cover a total of 3,308 people.

Expressing satisfaction with the cooperation with the State Committee, Ch. Bist spoke about the multifaceted activities of the Community Resource Center, and expressed confidence that a number of successful projects will be implemented in the future.

It should be noted that during the day, a meeting was held with the beneficiaries of the Horadiz Rapid Impact Project, the guests got acquainted with the work done to repair roads in Gazakhlilar and Ahmadalilar villages, as well as to improve water supply in Horadiz.
