The foreign guests visited the Zagatala Child and Family Support Center

On November 23, 2021, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Mrs. Vladanka Andreeva, Head of the UN Office in Azerbaijan, Resident Coordinator, Michael Dickerson, Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy, Pauline Eizeman, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, with the participation of USAID Mission Director in Azerbaijan Jay Singh and UNDP Resident Representative Charu Bist held a meeting at the Child and Family Support Center during the visit to Zagatala
During the meeting, the guests were informed about the services provided at the center. It was noted that Zagatala UADM has been operating under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs since 2010 and mainly serves families, children and women at risk in the community. The center offers active therapy, communication therapy and psychological support classes for children with behavioral, speech and learning problems.
It was noted that the center, which carries out most of its activities through the "case management" method of social work, also received complaints about domestic violence. Also It was noted that after the initial psycho-social assessment of the victims, the necessary psycho-social support was provided by connecting them with the "Gender Violence and Violence Against Children Monitoring Group" under the local Executive Power.
The questions of the guests were answered, and the meeting continued with discussions.
