Community Resource Center has been opened in Fizuli-Horadiz

On April 23, 2021, opening ceremony of the Community Resource Center was held in Fizuli-Horadiz, which was jointly organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the United Nations Development Program.
In the framework of the project "Early recovery of the most vulnerable groups of the population and ensuring the sustainability of the community in the Fizuli-Horadiz, Agjabadi and Tartar regions of Azerbaijan" the opening ceremony was attended by Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee, Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova, the Deputy Chair of the State Committee, Mr. Ali Aliyev, the Head of the Fizuli District Executive Power, Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, the UNDP Resident Representative and other guests.
Firstly, the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev was visited, flowers were laid at his grave. Then the participants visited the Alley of Martyrs and commemorated the memory of soldiers who died for the Motherland.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. Ali Aliyev, the head of the executive power of Fizuli region informed the guests about the terrorist crimes committed against civilians as a result of the Armenian aggression. He also noted that he believed that our citizens will use effectively the services of the newly opened community resource center.
Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee congratulated the participants on the opening of the center and thanked everyone involved in the implementation of such an initiative.
Mrs. Muradova added that the opening of the Community Resource Centers in Fizuli, Agjabadi and Tartar districts is an important part of the program of initial rehabilitation and community resilience, which provides comprehensive support to vulnerable groups and the solution of their socio-economic problems.
She noted that the three centers will help identify the urgent needs of war-affected communities and provide socio-economic rehabilitation support, including housing, psychosocial and business counseling services, focusing on women, children and people with disabilities.
Mrs. Bahar Muradova stressed that the project will also help increase women's access to the labor market, develop entrepreneurship and self-employment among them, and improve vocational training.
Later, Mr.Alessandro Fracassetti, the UNDP Resident Representative expressed satisfaction with his participation in the event. He stressed that the projects implemented jointly with the Azerbaijani government and a number of international partners always focus on vulnerable groups. Mr. Fracassetti said that everyone can benefit from the experience of the Centers, especially women, youth, children, vulnerable citizens, they can receive legal and sociological assistance, as well as economic support.
During the event, Mrs. Aziza Mehdizade, the project coordinator made a presentation, as well as a number of publications of the State Committee were presented to the Resource Center.
After hearing the speeches, opinions and suggestions were expressed and discussions were held on the training of Fizuli residents, as well as refugee and IDP families, the provision of psychosocial assistance. The event continued with discussions.
At the end, representatives of the newly opened Community Resource Center presented gifts to the families of martyrs on behalf of the State Committee.
