"Different Individuals 2021" congress was held to include children with autism spectrum disorders in society

The opening ceremony of the "Different Individuals 2021" congress was held with the official support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children  Affairs on April 17, 2021.

Mrs. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Chief of Staff of the State Committee  made a speech at the 3rd "Different Individuals 2021" Congress aimed at inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders in society.

Mrs. Rahmatullayeva said in her speech that since the end of the XX century and  beginning of the XXI century, great enlightenment work has been carried out around the world in the field of perception of autism as a spectrums

Great awareness-raising work has been carried out by the state, public organizations, and individual specialists in the field of support and attention to people in need of special care in Azerbaijan.

Mrs.Rahmatullayeva stressed that with the special attention of Mrs.Mehriban Aliyeva First Vice President, important work is being done to increase opportunities for children with autism, Down syndrome and other special needs, to create appropriate conditions for their wider integration into society.

Noting that the State Committee and the Child and Family Support Centers acting under the State Committee also work with people with autism, their inclusion and integration into society, Mrs. Rahmatullayeva said that taking these people under special control and being more sensitive is one of the important factors. 157 children with autism spectrum disorders benefit from the services of the Centers.

Emphasizing the Children's Strategy for 2020-2030, adopted by the Presidential Decree in June 2020, Mrs. Rahmatullayeva mentioned that one of the most important issues in the action plan arising from this strategy is to work with children in need of special care and the importance of establishing early intervention and early detection services in the field
