A meeting of partners was held to discuss the hotline 860 for victims of domestic violence

On February 24, 2021, the State Committee for Family Affairs, Women and UNFPA held a meeting of partners in order to discuss the hotline 860 for victims of domestic violence. The meeting was attended by the representatives of government agencies, monitoring groups, public unions, Child and Family Support Centers operating under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova informed participants about the activities of monitoring groups on gender-based violence and violence against children. She noted the importance of the "National Action Plan for the Prevention of Domestic Violence", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 27, 2020. She also highlighted the opening of a specialized national hotline 860 to provide comprehensive support and advice to victims of violence. She also mentioned about joint work on prevention of domestic violence.
Then, Farid Babayev, Assistant Representative of UNFPA’s Country Office in Azerbaijan made speech on awareness raising activities carried out by the UN Population Fund and the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs.
Gunel Aslanova, Director of “Genezys Psychology” Company, Rena Farajova, Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Sabunchi District, Chair of the Group on Gender Violence and Violence against Children, Ulvi Abdullayev, representative of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Gunay Ayyubova, Deputy Head of Department legal support and human rights, Adigezal Adigozalov, head of the department for preventive work with minors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yagub Najafli, head of the legal department of the executive power of the Sabail region, Mehriban Zeynalova, chairperson of the "Clean World" Public Association, Zenfira Mustafayeva, chairperson of the Public Association "Women's Initiative and Social problems ”, Taliya Ibragimova, head of the Legal Department of the State Committee for Women and Children, and Sabina Manafova, head of the Department of İnternational relations and protocol service, shared their views on the topic.
At the end, the participants discussed the issues related to topic and stressed the importance of the event.
