Sadagat Gahramanova and Wendy Morton visited the women's shelter

Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs together with Wendy Morton, Minister of State for the European Neighborhood and the United States, visited the shelter of the Clean World Women's Aid Public Union.
During the meeting Deputy Chair of the Committee Sadagat Gahramanova spoke about National Action Plan on Combating Domestic Violence for 2020-2023. She provided detailed information on the activities of monitoring groups on gender violence and violence against children, a database on domestic violence, established under the local executive authorities, and noted that 860 hotlines have been established to strengthen the fight in this area.
Speaking about the acquisition of women's suffrage in Azerbaijan nine years ago by the United Kingdom, Morton said she was holding discussions with ministers, parliamentarians and activists today to promote women's rights and ensure that women's perspectives are heard at all levels.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the prevention of domestic violence and exchanged views.
