28th meeting of the Committee of Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse takes place online

From 21 to 25 September 2020, the 28th meeting of the Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse is being held online.
The following topics will be discussed at the meeting: strengthening the protection of children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic, protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse facilitated by ICTs, protecting children affected by the refugee crisis from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse, the EU strategy for a more effective fight against sexual abuse of children.
The meeting was attended by Zahida Israfilova from the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol Services of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs.
It should be noted that the Convention obliges states to protect children from all forms of sexual violence and to prosecute the perpetrators of such crimes.
