On 24-25 June, the Institution Building, TAIEX and Twinning Unit organised a Multi-country TAIEX Workshop on Innovative Practices to Prevent Domestic Violence in the Context of Covid-19 .

The aim of the online workshop was to share experiences how EU Member States and EU partner countries stepped up their efforts to offer protection to victims of domestic violence. The workshop got together almost 200 participants to share views and practical solutions in the prevention and response to gender-based violence. Many participants welcomed the timeliness of the event.
The online workshop gathered participants from all NEAR regions, experts from EU Member states (France, Lithuania and Spain), international and EU institutions, including the European Commission, the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the Council of Europe, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UN Women. Among civil society organizations took part in the event.
Mrs.Sabina Manafova, Head of the International Relations and Protocol Service Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Seymur Mammadov, Tural Huseynzadeh from Legal Department, Raida Amirbayova from Information and Analytical Research Department, and Maryam Haji-Ismayilova, representative of EU Delegation to Azerbaijan took part in this online conference.
The event allowed to exchange best practices and to learn from each other about innovative solutions used to address domestic violence challenge.
Three EU Member States and 21 EU partner country presented strategies and measures implemented during the Covid-19 crisis
During the session, Mrs.Sabina Manafova, Head of the Foreign Relations and Protocol Service Department of the SCWRA, spoke about the important measures and positive experiences in the field of protection of women's rights and prevention of domestic violence in Azerbaijan during the pandemic.
