On 28 April, 2018 the final stage of the national intellectual game “Toward the Victory” dedicated to the occasion of 95’s anniversary of the eminent ophthalmologist scientist Mrs.  Zarifa Aliyeva had been organized by the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs jointly with the  Executive Power of Binagadi District.

The main purpose of such competitions is to provide the opportunities for the children to demonstrate their knowledge and skills and at the same time to learn more about the history and culture of Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the framework of the preparations to the competition,  the regional selective tours have taken place in the settlements and villages of Absheron, Sumgait and Baku. In general, 9 teams have struggled for a cup of the game “Towards Victory”.

The event had been opened by presentation of the the film named “ A Life Full of Lights” dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva.

Mr. Khaladdin Isgandarov, Head of Binagadi District Executive Power, Mrs.Hijran Huseynova, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, Mr. Ahliman Amiraslanov, the Chairperson of Health Committee of the Parliament, Mrs.Sona Valiyeva, Deputy Chairperson of National Television and Radio Council, Mr. Pasha Qalbinur, the member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, professor and poet and   Mrs. Malahat Ibrahimkizi, the Member of the Parliament made opening speeches in the beginning of the event.

It was mentioned that Professor, Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva has published more than 140 scientific papers, including 10 monographs, one invention and 12 rationalization proposals, she became the first ophthalmologist woman in the USSR awarded one of the prestigious awards in this field of science named after academician M. I. Averbach, founder of the Helmholtz Central Research Institute of Ophthalmology.

The event has come to the and by announcing the winner of the intellectual competition. The team representing Sabunchu District was awarded by the cup of   “Toward the Victory” by receiving the first place.
