On April 16, 2024, awards were presented to women who were awarded the "Progress" medal according to the Decree of President Mr. Ilham Aliyev for their effective activities in the public life of the country. Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the chairperson of the State Committee, who delivered the opening speech, greeted the event participants and congratulated them. She emphasized that the Azerbaijani woman is historically a devoted mother who protects and develops our family values, who raises worthy citizens and brave heroes who liberate our lands. The chairperson of the committee stressed that the main share in the preservation of our national and moral values falls on the shoulders of our women and that she is proud of our historically enlightened and capable women.

Reminding that the national leader Heydar Aliyev always appreciated women, that they have a unique attitude to their place in the family, society, and state life, the chairperson pointed out that the traditions set by the great leader in his time in women's policy are continued today.

Speaking about the projects realized within the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", B. Muradova emphasized the many achievements of Azerbaijan this year. Noting that after the victory in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, our country achieved new successes and restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity as a result of anti-terrorist operations, the Chairperson of the Committee called the first presidential election held in the spirit of victory as an indicator of loyalty to the great leader's legacy. She added that the role of our women in all these processes, as well as in ensuring the return to Karabakh in the near future, is undeniable.

Recalling the opinion of Mr. President's congratulation on the occasion of International Women's Day, "Our people have always respected women and prioritized the rights of mothers," the chairperson said that Azerbaijan's current state women's policy is developing on this basis.

At the end of his speech, the Chairperson of the Committee heartily congratulated each of the awarded women and said that receiving a state award signed by the President is an honor, pride and responsibility, and he believes that they will carry it with dignity and pride.

Later, Presidential awards were presented to the women who had their say in the development of science and culture of Azerbaijan, as well as those who had important services in the social and political sphere.

The awardees spoke and said that they are proud to be awarded as citizens of the winning country, which has ensured its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Evaluating this award as an honorable page in their activities, they expressed their gratitude to the head of the country for the attention and trust he has shown to the women of Azerbaijan, they said that they will justify the trust and be loyal to our homeland and nation.
