On June 9, 2023, training was held under the organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs in Oguz region for the members of the monitoring group on gender violence and violence against children established within the Executive Authorities of Sheki, Gabala, Gakh, Zagatala and Balakan regions.

Mr. Ayaz Agayev, deputy head of the Department of Social-political and humanitarian affairs of the Oguz region executive authority, welcomed and informed the event participants about the work done in the field of prevention of domestic violence.

Mrs. Sadagat Kahramanova, the Deputy Chair of the Committee, noted that monitoring groups on gender violence and violence against children, established in regional and city executive authorities throughout the republic, should be guided by the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Prevention of Domestic Violence" and provide more flexible support to victims of violence. She drew attention to the importance of taking measures in the direction of showing, issuing protection warrants, and placing the victims in shelters if necessary.

Mr. Tural Huseynzade, an employee of the Legal Support Department of the Committee, made a presentation on the topic "Analysis of the activities of monitoring groups on domestic violence and measures to be taken on the legal level."

The training continued with an exchange of ideas and a question-and-answer session.

The purpose of the training is to implement the relevant clauses of the "National Action Plan for the fight against domestic violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023", as well as to discuss issues such as strengthening measures to prevent domestic violence and conducting preventive work in the field of fighting violence in the regions.
