Mrs. Bahar Muradova,  the chairperson  of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affiars met with Mr. Petr Zikh, the head of the Council of Europe office in Azerbaijan on March 2, 2023.

During the meeting, the relations between the Committee and the Council of Europe were discussed, the implemented projects  and cooperation prospects were discussed.

Welcoming the guests, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the Committee said that the relationship based on mutual cooperation with the Council of Europe has been going on for many years.

Recalling the efforts made by the national leader Heydar Aliyev in connection with a number of international organizations, as well as the membership of the Council of Europe, she noted that today the work started by the national leader Heydar Aliyev has been successfully continued.

She spoke about the measures implemented in the direction of protecting women's rights, ensuring gender equality and combating domestic violence, and said that the Committee is ready to continue cooperation with the Council of Europe in all possible directions in this regard.

B. Muradova, who stated that the Partnership Program for Good Governance II project has been successfully completed, said that serious results have been achieved within the framework of the Program. She added that the continuation of this project will be important for studying needs and determining directions for the next phase of cooperation.

Mr. Petr Zix, the head of the office of the Council of Europe in Azerbaijan, who thanked for the warm reception, noted the importance of cooperation with the Committee and expressed his intention to continue this cooperation successfully.

Talking about the projects implemented within the framework of Partnership Program for Good Governance II, the official of the Council of Europe pointed out that great results have been achieved in 3 years, and the next stage of the Program has already been officially approved.

Recalling his visits to Azerbaijan during his activities in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, he shared his impressions during his meeting with the great leader Heydar Aliyev.

Mr.Teymur Mammadov, assistant of the chairperson of the committee, Mrs. Kamala Hagverdiyeva, deputy director of the International relations and protocol service department also participated in the meeting.
