On December 29, 2022, a meeting of the Expert Council on the age classification of information products was held at the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

Mrs. Aynur Sofiyeva, the Deputy Chair of the State Committee, Chairman of the Expert Council declared the meeting open and drew attention to the issues on the agenda related to the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information". She noted that the protection of children from harmful information is one of the urgent issues, and in this direction, there is a need to strengthen the work of the Council of Experts, as well as to carry out information on a wider scale.

A. Sofiyeva noted that it is important to strengthen the measures in the direction of monitoring the activity of producers or distributors of information products in order to detect the information products that are distributed without providing age classification in the country or incorrectly.

She pointed out that the number of applications to the competition held for the purpose of awarding qualification certificates to experts on the age classification of information products was not sufficient or that the candidates did not meet the competition conditions, and added that it is important to strengthen campaign work in this direction.

Later, the members of the Expert Council drew attention to the measures taken by the institutions they represent in connection with the implementation of the Law. Within the framework of the meeting, proposals were discussed for the preparation of recommendations for the information product producers, distributors and expert organizations regarding the age category of the information product.

Within the framework of the meeting, the results of the competition held by the Competition Commission and the information about the expert who was given the qualification certificate were brought to the attention of the experts on the age classification of the information product.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Expert Council - Aykhan Sadigli, the representative of the Audiovisual Council, Elshad Aliyev, the representative of the Ministry of Culture, Aysel Hadiyeva, the representative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Kamala Kahramanova, the pedagogue-psychologist, Leyla Aliyeva, doctor psychiatrist, child psychiatrist, Konul Taghizade, the chief adviser of the Department of Children's Affairs of the Committee, secretary of the Council, Seymur Mammadov, the deputy director of the Committee's Legal Assurance Department, Sevil Rasulzade, the representative of the Committee's Analytical Analysis and Information Assurance Department, Saida Musayeva, an expert on age classification of information products.

In the end, the action plan covering the works planned for the next year was brought to attention.
