The 22nd session of the Commission on Gender Equality of the Council of Europe

In the session held in Strasbourg, France on November 16-18, 2022, thematic discussions were held with representatives of member states on preparations for the next "Gender Equality Strategy" (2024-2029) of the Council of Europe, women's access to justice, combating violence against women and girls, migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women, as well as the issues of combating and preventing gender stereotypes and sexism.
Within the framework of the session, the text of the Instruction document on "Gender equality and the place of men and boys in policies to combat violence against women" was agreed upon with the representatives of the member states.
In addition, the results of the study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women's access to justice were discussed, and the opinions and proposals of the participating states were heard in the session.
During the 3-day of session, Azerbaijan was represented by Mr. Farid Adilov, head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol Service of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
During the session, Mr.Farid Adilov shared the updated information on the activities carried out in our country regarding the mentioned issues with the representatives of the Commission and also recommended making relevant proposals and changes to the above-mentioned documents and ensured their agreement with other representatives.
