The head of the Apparatus of the State Committee addressed the 79th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women

The 79th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women is being held from June 21 to July 1, 2021.
Mrs. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, the head of the Apparatus of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs took part in the online event on the rights of indigenous women and girls held on June 24, 2021, as part of the session.
Drawing attention to the participation of women and girls of other nationalities in the socio-political life of the country, Mrs. Rahmatullayeva said that all women in our country have equal rights, regardless of their nationality. Noting that the main part of the Azerbaijani population is Azerbaijanis and about 30 nationalities and ethnic groups, the Committee official said that our country has joined more than 50 international conventions on the protection of human rights and national minorities. More than 15 newspapers and magazines are published in the languages of the ethnic communities living in Azerbaijan, and 5 local TV and radio channels operate in the regions where these peoples live compactly. There are more than 40 music and folklore groups of these peoples in a number of regions of Azerbaijan, consisting of women. At the same time, there are religious places of worship in Azerbaijan for representatives of indigenous peoples, including women.
