According to the resolution of the UN General Assembly of September 20, 1993, May 15 has been celebrated as the International Family Day in Azerbaijan every year since 2008.

The purpose of celebrating this day is to contribute to the development of the family, the strengthening of family values in society and promotion among the younger generation.
